Life Planning:
Wealth is the ability to fully
experience life.
Henry David Thoreau
What does your "ideal life"
look like?
What does your "ideal life" look like? It changes as we progress
through various stages. These common stages include:
- adolescence
- obtaining our college education
- developing a career
- growing a family
- retirement
- planning our legacy
Money management is the common thread that can
enable our lives and allow us to enjoy each stage.
Money does not create fulfillment or happiness by itself, but it can provide
the time and the freedom to have those experiences we most desire for ourselves
and with our loved ones.
Without a sense of peace concerning money, financial stress can become overwhelming.
The
American Psychological Association (APA) surveyed and found that
seventy-three percent of Americans single out money as the #1 cause of
stress.
Funding your "ideal life"
at each stage
Many people if given three wishes may wish for monetary wealth, but what they
really want is the sense of freedom, relief, the ability to do the things they
desire, to be able to create and support close relationships with others, to
feel accomplished and respected, and most importantly to feel secure with their
ability to best care for themselves and their loved ones. These are all the
outcomes of having enough money.
You can create your "ideal life" with proper money management and a
clear understanding of what is most important to you. What drives you at
each stage and what do you most want at the next stage?
Do you have a plan to create what you most desire with the many assets (tangible
and intangible) that you currently have available to you? Do you have the
proper team to help you achieve these goals?
